I am a licensed band director and K-12 music educator located in Denver, CO. My passions range from the marching arts to modern band, and using the music of today to connect us with music of the past. I love teaching students ways to express themselves using instruments, singing, and creating music using software to help them find identity and passion through art and collaboration.
I am currently the Director of Bands at Thornton Middle School in Colorado, and the marching percussion caption head at Northglenn High School. Previously, I’ve taught middle school band at STEM Launch in Thornton, CO and K-8 music and band at Firestone Charter Academy in Firestone, CO.
I perform locally, nationally, and internationally in bands, choirs, orchestras, and various modern ensembles. My favorite styles of music to listen to and compose are hip-hop, alternative, rock, classical, and pop. When I don’t teach and perform, I love to garden, hike, climb, travel, play video games, and learn new skills.
I received my Bachelor’s of Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado in the Fall of 2019. My professional credentials include my Colorado Initial Teaching Certificate and my educator certifications from Google, Apple, and Soundtrap. I have taken several modern band trainings with Music Will and I am a proud member of CMEA and NAfME, who have provided me excellent opportunities for Professional Development
